Staff Lindy Phannenstiel, General Sales Manager Lindy joined TV8 during the planning stages of the station in 1990 shortly before it’s first broadcast and has been an integral member of the staff ever since. She is titled the General Sales Manager at TV8, but also wears a wide variety of other hats. . . such as payroll, accounts payable, overseeing all traffic and accounts receivable, primary liaison with the parent company Vail Resorts Inc., website manager. . . you name it and she’ll take care of it or make sure it gets done. Throughout her tenure at TV8, Lindy has found leading the sales team for the award winning “Good Morning Vail” show and TV8/TV17 to be a very rewarding experience and is ready to assist you with any advertising needs you may have. Mikel Obourn, Senior Account Manager Mikel joined TV8 team in 1997 representing a complete spectrum of advertising avenues, which has brought enormous growth to TV8. She believes in the solid marketing products of TV8 and TV17, as well as the dedicated staff that truly cares about the quality of that broadcast product they produce. She genuinely enjoys representing an advertising medium that makes good sense for her mountain clients. Mikel feels that ultimately, we share the goal of growing our client’s business through successful TV marketing. Chris Sena, Office Assistant While growing up in the Boston area, every winter weekend was a family event spent skiing in New Hampshire and Vermont. Early career choices postponed ski trips for a number of years until Chris’ daughter moved to Colorado. Her 2003 move to Eagle County ensured a few more winters on the slopes. When not hosting the weekend “Green Room” at TV 8, Chris can be found babysitting her new grandchild and volunteering at the Ford Amphitheater, the Vilar Center the rodeo and numerous ski events. Colorado Natives are hard to find these days, buy Lindy is proudly one of them! Born and raised in the Denver area, she became an avid skier and outdoors lover at a very early age. She moved to the Vail Valley shortly after graduating from the University of Colorado-Boulder, with a marketing emphasis in 1988.
Mikel’s roots are buried deep in Colorado soil reaching back to Woodland Park, settled by her grandmother’s family. Mikel grew-up in a large family in Littleton, Colorado and remains very close to them today. Her love of the mountains began in Gunnison where she graduated with a double bachelor’s degree from Western State College in 1978. She has enjoyed living in ski towns like Crested Butte, Steamboat Springs, Aspen, and finally…Vail. Nowadays, Mikel & her husband, along with their 7-year old twins, treasure their mountain life as a skiing family.
Chris, a native New Englander, moved to Colorado in 2003 after retiring from a career which allowed her to travel throughout the U.S. and Europe. Stationed in Boston, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., she held varied positions in project planning, design, construction, environmental studies and landscape architecture. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts and graduate degree from Virginia Tech.
TJ joined the TV8 team in June of 2005 as a director and photographer/editor. Prior to landing the “dream job” he worked as a news photographer for the NBC affiliate in Lubbock, TX, the NBC affiliate in Amarillo, TX and as a news/sports photographer and satellite uplink engineer in Houston, TX. TJ attended college at the University of Colorado in Boulder as well as Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. In his spare time TJ enjoys skiing, fishing, backpacking and four-wheeling in the mountains. You may email TJ at
